The First 70 Years
Albanevosa, historical logo of the Italian cosmetic industry, in 2009 celebrated the first 70 years of activity. In fact, it was established in 1939, thanks to the intense passion for medicinal herbs, chemistry and nature of Bernardino Covi, journalist, short-story writer, poet and lover of beauty, particularly the female one, who devoted his whole life and knowledge to the study of cosmetics.
Thanks to his fervent mind and intuitive ability, he significantly and substantially contributed to the creation of new concepts of care and well-being for the skin, generating the evolutive process within his  company that, from the post-war period until now, renewed the meaning of beauty and health.
 
Bernardino Covi became an inventor when, during the war years, he designed customized plants for the production of cosmetics, tags and boxes, and for the use of containers, like bottles and small pots, and in this way creating a perfect process which gave to him and his relatives-partners the opportunity to be the fundamental part of a series of events, which would bring the birth of a new beauty product.
Albanevosa takes the first steps in the cosmetics world, producing hand and face creams, powders, lipsticks and what were once called “belletti”, interpreting and anticipating the new idea of female charm and grace. Acclaimed national fame was reached in 1945 for a hand and face cream called Albanevosa, which determined the choice of the company’s logo.
 
1949: a hand cream is created, so white and soft, that it resembles a snowy winter morning: from here, the legend of albanevosa was born.
 
In 1949, cosmetic products based on extracts of plants, fruit and royal jelly were produced. Over the years, thanks to new scientific knowledge in the cosmetics field, Albanevosa began a path of study and improvement which determined the choice to use raw materials and active ingredients, mostly of vegetable origin, with an high skin affinity, fully respecting the physiology of the skin. That would be the philosophy which characterized Albanevosa during the following years.
Since 1961, Albanevosa has applied the brand-new concept of skin pH to its  products, creating the first Complete Line of Face and Body Treatments, dedicated to the Professional field and, from 1965, it began a close and lasting collaboration with clinical experts, to improve and finalize the studies about effects and side-effects related to the main contents of cosmetic formulations.

1978: Albanevosa is the first Italian cosmetic company to banish Freon 11-12, which was harmful for the ozone, from its products.
 
’80s: these years mark the history of Albanevosa by the introduction of Natural Essent ial Oils in its professional range, perfectly mixed to create synergic actions whose results would be appreciated and desired by an increasing number of beauticians.
 
1990: Albanevosa eliminates hair spray from its production line, considering it harmful to health. This idea was then confirmed in 1995 by US researchers.
 
Since 1990, scientific studies have put increased attention on the functions and importance of skin, stimulating the creation, within Albanevosa laboratories, of cosmetics with light and vanishing textures, and with innovative formulations, which were more effective and safe. Our way is to create unique beauty products, inspired by ancient knowledge and the most recent discoveries of science, with passion, love and devotion.
